Your calligraphy is booootiful, you know I've always said you have the prettiest writing (even naturally!). Though we'll never agree on the extra S after the apostrophe on a word that ends in S (like Linus's vs. Linus').

Hey thanks :) Is blankpieces something you (co-)started?

The Elements of Style talks about the apostrophe issue first thing, and I've followed it since: http://www.bartleby.com/141/strunk.html However I think it's really about how you say the possessive. I would say "lie-nus-es", not just "lie-nus", so for me the extra S makes sense. How would you say it?

And yes. Extreeeme nerdiness. Some people will just never know that kind of bliss. :)

It was originally Tuyet's idea (remember her from Danforth? Big artiste, girl Phuong's cousin), but she asked me to co-mod it. Since it's such a close-knit group of acquaintances and such (10 members, I think), it's not like I do much besides tend the design of the site.

Anyway, Jenny's there, too. And we take photography, so if you want in, I'll send you an invitation. (or if not, no pressure. ^^)

yeah, we've had this discussion before, lol. I read the article, but I tend to read the apostrophe as a "s" sound in itself. and Linus's just looks plain weird. Miss Wong taught us so, so that's what I do, haha. Though I suppose as long as you're consistent, it's all good.

It does look a little weird. :) There's always a question of aesthetics vs. semantics. I think it was you I also argued with about "the punctuation inside," vs. "the punctuation outside". Outside looks dumb because of the gap under the closing quotation marks. But unless the quotation itself ends in the punctuation, it makes more sense outside -- and apparently it's the Canadian way. :)

I am resisting Blankpieces because I already post my photos on my website... but maybe I could post the ones I'm especially proud of on there. I dunno. But man, I have to get back into practise with calligraphy. I just looked up calligraphy communities on LJ and got led to calligraphic pieces on DeviantArt... oooooh man. It's the curves. :) Calligraphy or women?... dunno if I could choose.
