The film sounds interesting. I haven't seen any Fassbinder in a while - thanks for the pointer to it. Added a few of his others to my queue

His "BRD Trilogy" (The Marriage of Maria Braun, Veronika Voss, and Lola) are his best works, although I'm also partial to Despair with its English language screenplay by Tom Stoppard, from the Nabokov, and starring Dirk Bogarde. But you'd have to pay me a million dollars to make me sit through Fox and His Freinds again, and half a million dollars for The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant.

Hey, I liked Bitter Tears. In a Year of 13 Moons was insufferably pretentious, “ha ha, the joke’s on you, the viewer!” muck; completely worthless.

Got BRD & queerelle in there. Looks like there's a bundle in DE with Inception ( http://www.amazon.de/Welt-Draht-Arthaus-Premium-DVDs/dp/B0030I21J2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295648415&sr=8-1 ) Torrents seem to be meager.

I love seeing NYC through your eyes and ears and actions. My Harlem-dwelling sister is wrong! NY'ers DO take part in a lot of stuff in and around the city.

Thanks! That certainly was the case in the East Village last night, where even though it was 20 degrees out, we had trouble getting into a couple of our favorite places to eat. We ended up at the counter at Veselka, which was interesting but something I'd never do again (better not to see the sausage being made!).
