So, The Tempest was very good. Understudy Arial coped admirably, even with script in hand. And guess who dragged himself from his sickbed at half time to fill the smaller roles which had been left empty when everyone got rotated upwards? (The whole understudy thing gets very complicated!)

Yes, he did. He was one of the extra spirits in the second half, and the mariner at the end, who was not the same mariner who was in the shipwreck at the start. And they hadn't rehearsed changing places for the wee dance thing at the end, which is why Arial was with the crew, and the mariner was with the spirits.

That wasn't him. I swear. Looked like him but wasn't. The chubby Griff Rhys-Jones lookalike director guy even referred to Colin as ailing in bed at home. I wish it had been it would've made my year! (Well apart from the having a baby thing!!)
