It's interesting what you see from the windows here. It's like the broken concrete is full of--

I don't like the cold, but. [Pause] Maybe it feels cleaner. [A speckling of pen taps]

I don't think-- I heard, a man on the street sing this song. [Transcribed very neatly and carefully ( Read more... )

You're cold already?

And yeah, it hurts like a bitch.

At night, mostly.

What do you do about it?

You don't have a jacket or anything?

Me? I drink, gamble... Pretty much just bury it until it's forgotten. It's not the healthiest way, I'm sure.

I do. But I should just [pause] learn not to let it bother me.

What's healthier?

Wonder what happened to the girl person in the song.

I guess you got the answer to your question.

Sort of, I guess. I still don't really know.

But [hesitates] I hear that's a good thing.

Depends. I'd rather know and not get surprised by it later on.

That makes sense. If it wasn't I can't imagine why people would listen to it.

[She starts connecting some of the flowers she's drawn with little vines.]

How are you today, Roxas?

Yeah, you're right.

I'm [Pause] doing well. What about you?

That sort of grief is for poets, and poets are kind of softer than the average person. No one but 'creative' types go on like that, and usually, if they do it in public, it's for money or attention.

I bet you whatever happened didn't hurt that much.

I [Oh my god] think I agree.

Sitting there and thinking deep thoughts about the misery of a street performer isn't going to get you anywhere, so don't even bother.
