... Why was he feeling bad about this?!

"U-Uh..." Wait, no, she was trying to kill him! He thought. Was she? How could someone like her really be trying to kill him? No, no, he saw her disappear with that damn jar of seeds! She was trying to kill him!

... Right?

"... Y-Yeah, you probably should." Rolo figured, at the very least, if he was wrong about Melissa, then he could apologize later for making her cry. Maybe he should just tell her the truth. Of course, why didn't he think of that before? If Melissa really was innocent, she'd laugh and drink the lemonade to show him that he was wrong, maybe after crying a bit at the thought that Rolo thought she was trying to kill him ( ... )

"I know you're just after me because I know about you, you just told me that much," Rolo replied bitterly, knowing damn well he just got involved because he saw those seeds. He didn't need any reminders that in the grand scheme of things, he was nothing. Rolo was all too well aware of that himself.

But so was Melissa. She was nothing as well, and Rolo knew no one would miss her too much once he took care of her, especially because she was like him. Killers had no friends, no family, and no one would mourn their death. At least she made this rather easy on him.

... If he had to kill her. Rolo was not looking forward to having two (three?) people on this ship who wanted to kill him, but there was no way he could do it cleanly now. There was this mess, Melissa was most likely last seen here. What was he going to do? Risk everything he had built up, his life itself, just to get rid of some minor annoyance, or...

"Then why didn't you just tell me that in the first place? We could have avoided this little mess."

"Because you were supposed to shut up and die!" Her eyes narrowed again and she leaned forward to point her dagger at him accusingly, but she didn't stand back up. Her hip hurt. "Do you know how annoying it is to have someone hanging around that you can't trust? Someone who knows exactly who you are? I know. I don't trust you. Look what you did to my dress!"

She adored this dress! And now it was torn and stained with blood- and not someone else's blood either!

"Why couldn't you have just drank the damn lemonade?!"

Rolo noted how Melissa failed to actually take the final blow, a little pleased that they had reached a stalemate. Now if he could get her off his back long enough... Damnit, he hated everything right now.

He couldn't help it though. A low chuckle escaped his lips, and Rolo laughed, just a little, because it really hurt to move. But it was kind of funny, he guessed.

"Someone who knows who you are, and what you do. Someone who knows your true nature, someone who you have to keep looking behind your shoulder for. He's on the ship, watching your every mood, and you're stuck wondering what he's doing right now. Who is he talking to right now? Is it about you? You want to kill him, but he's making it so difficult ( ... )

Dahlia grabbed her parasol again and stood, staring Rolo down as she held her dagger to her side.

"Open the door."

Surprisingly, Rolo complied, unlocking the door and holding it open as she requested. Really, he just wanted her to get out.

"Don't come near me again."
