Jr. had seen the grumpy cook around the Silvana a few times, though they had yet to talk though. Jr. did know one thing though, the guy made great food.

And so the least he could do was help him carry whatever groceries he needed. Besides, this was a great chance to see a part of Melior without getting lost. Assuming the cook knew where he was going. But Jr. was a trusting guy, and if they get lost, hey, it was an adventure.

Stepping off the Silvana, Jr. took a moment to look around. Melior was pretty damn big. Once he had finished taking in the view, he approached the cook.

The big axe was pretty impressive, he had to admit. But why would you need an axe to go shopping?

After responding to Aragaki's electronic journal, Tear had wasted no time in heading straight out to the docks. If anyone had been watching, it would've seemed she was more than eager to begin shopping. However, it was quite the contrary - she was rather impatient to continue her 'investigation' of the missing books. She didn't really believe the cook had anything to do with it, but she couldn't disregard that prospect so quickly. At the moment, all the new crew members were a suspect. It was even possible the others, even the ones who had stuck with the ship for years now, were at fault ( ... )

"Just one moment, Miss Grants."

Being late was still fashionable, wasn't it? Gin hoped so as he strode unhurriedly down the gangplank with Shinso tucked into one side of his coat and Hitsugaya's letter in the other. Since it seemed a few of his crewmembers were going ashore he felt obliged to join them, especially since he knew none of them particularly well. What better way to get more familiar than by a nice little social outing?

"I have a few of my own errands to run," he told the group, "But I thought I could join you at least to start with."

Shinjiro rolled his eyes and groaned under his breath. This was idiotic. He asked for help lugging shit and got a kid, a woman, and a scrawny guy. Wonderful.

"Fine. Whatever. Let's just go." He said bluntly, walking out into the city proper, not seeming to think it odd that he had a large weapon out in the open, or that it might be prudent to thank the people helping him.

He fed them. That was thanks enough.

Interesting. Jr. figured that Shinjiro wouldn't be interested in talking, much less to him, after that little fiasco. But hey, Jr. wasn't going to give up the chance to strike up conversation. He didn't want the entire trip to become all boring now, would he?

"Yeah, though, my old man more specifically," he answered. "We actually don't expect anything right now, especially with diplomatic relations being so high strung, but I guess he didn't want me having fun while I'm on the Silvana."

That was actually true. Gaignun did ask Jr. to be on the lookout for any potential ways to break into the Ivonan market. It was, of course, unimportant to his real task at hand: finding out whether or not Albedo was truly alive, and if a six hundred and sixty-ninth clone of Dimitri Yuriev existed or not. But still, Jr. and Gaignun had new lives now, and they intended to fully enjoy them once this business was finished.

Tear had expected their walk towards their next destination to be filled with silence. One with a slight tension. However, it was the complete opposite - which was a good thing, actually, in more than one ways.

She could now observe them much easier. With two people instead of three, it wasn't as difficult to keep an eye on all of them.

"And what are things you find entertaining, if I may ask?" she inquired, glancing from Jr. to Aragaki, indicating she wasn't aiming this question entirely for the gunner, and that the cook was free to answer as well.

"That's your problem. Now's the time to do it. Businesses are going under due to the cut off trade. People are scared to start new ones. Get in while it's on the low." He said, his voice almost relaxed. Business wasn't his forte, but he had a quick mind and had known Mitsuru for years. You picked up on a few things.

"Abanstire. The strikes. If you go in and offer anything better then what they have now, they'll flock to you." And that was just from knowing, and being, someone on the skids. Hope could drive a man to a lot of things. Desperation to.

He looked back at Tear, his head cocking just a bit.

"Hell if I know. I just do what seems like a good kick at the time."

"Yeah, I know," Jr. huffed. "We're trying here, but heck, I think we should probably set up in the Badlands first before trying to get into this country. But you do have a good point there." Jr. certainly did know his business, but talking about business was, quite honestly, boring. So he perked up when Tear asked what he did for fun.

"I'm really into guns. Antique ones," he said with the enthusiasm of a child. "Oh, and I like listening to radio dramas, the action ones especially."
