Anthrax? You can do better than that. The name sounds like a horse in the Kentucky Derby. The Black Death - now that's a plague. It killed one-third of the earth's population. Now it can be treated with penicillin.

My Father's Day was wonderful -- I hope your's was as well.

My Father's Day was co-opted by writing for Idol (more like, TRYING to write for Idol). :O

I could definitely have used a day or two more on this topic, partly because my brain got co-opted by (among other things) the sudden Trumpian surge in COVID deniers. Or maybe Fox News is responsible, and he and his rally are where those intersected. Either way, it was hard to wrestle my brain free from People Being Wrong On The Internet. And by extension, the world. :( /o\

Oh, and-- it's also scorching here. It's supposed to be right around 100-degrees (or hotter) until next Monday. Help!!!

Personally I prefer to avoid the news like the plague. It’s often skewed and there’s rarely any good news in it.

I’m more into Pop Tarts than K-Pop, although in general I do prefer pop rock (and Pop Rocks).

Did anyone else re-read the topic post and worry that this might be the last round (just me, maybe)? And I quote:

True, it doesn't say when the eliminations will be, and that would be a MASSIVE twist, but... (looks around nervously)

I also noticed this possible interpretation, but figured that he wouldn't be talking about a "Top 3" if he were really about to eliminate all but one person.

Well, I've got nothing. If the deadline gets extended I'll try again to write something later tonight, but if not I think I need to finally give up. No inspiration all weekend, and my attempt to desperately write something in the final 3 hours before the deadline has produced absolutely nothing. I'm not going to write something I can be proud to submit in the remaining 58 minutes.

I also found this a thwartastic prompt. I'm not sure why, but it was a tough one. I did complete a story (my second attempt at the topic), but I'm so sorry you didn't get one finished in time. :( :(

I didn't think the prompt would be such a problem, but I just couldn't seem to come up with an idea that I actually liked.
