Have you ever head of Yuletide? From what I understand it's like a fic exchange for super-rare fandoms. You know, when you watch a movie or read a book and go "damn, I wish there was a fandom for this". Well, this is the place for just that.

But yeah, you, *nudge, nudge*, wouldn't you be perfectly predestined for such a thing (except you probably can't stand exchanges), you, oh perfect writer of obscure fandoms. 21JS, Bond, Middleman, Sholay, would probably be a perfect fit for yuletide.

I'm very anti-exchange because I always tend to get screwed! But the obscure fandom part of it is definitely up my alley.

Well you can always sneakily read the results even without writing for it. Plus, from what I know you can always fullfill somebody's request if the prompt tempts you even without submitting a request of your own. Or just submit a fandom and then try to get other people to write it and request it ;)

From what I understand the stories are due by Christmas or New Year? So there's still time for the movie to come out. Or you could always make it Dostana RPF just in case ;)

Yay! You got it all pretty much right - at this point people are allowed to nominate fandoms to be included in the exchange, and come the end of October signups will start, during which you can make three requests and offer to write as many fandoms as you think you can. Assignments are then sent out and stories are due at the end of December. So basically right now it's deciding which fandoms will be included. Totally excited that several fandoms that I was going to suggest have been nominated, but now I need to think of several more to nominate...

Oh, willing to share your picks yet? Of which ones to nomminate I mean? And which are the ones you definitely want to request? Friday Night Ligths maybe?

Which fandoms did end up writing for the last round anyway?

Oh and do you get one person to write for or do you get to choose among several people? How does that work?

You get one person. Basically, what happens is this: I request three fandoms and offer to write for any fandom that I can, as do you. Say I've requested VL, Blade, and Friday Night Lights, and you've offered to write VL, Merlin, and Doctor Who, and you get me, it means that you got me because you offered to write for VL and I asked for VL, but you can then pick any one of the prompts/fandoms I asked for. So you only get one person to write for, but you get three options of fandoms/prompts to write (though you may not know all of them). Does that make sense?
