Brittana Review of "I'm A Unicorn"

Am I too picky? Do I have expectations this show will never be able to fill?

A lot of small steps, but at least they are steps in the right direction. To begin with Santana couldn't even admit it to herself, then she self-identified as lesbian and now she's associating herself with the rainbow flag. We're getting there, we really are. Slow as molasses, but still...

Mhm, when it comes to Brittany there is not really anything Santana will deny her. Pussy whipped takes on a face in Santana Lopez.

I think you're right about this. I was thinking about this too, earlier. According to spoilers, the directors of the play reached a compromise in the casting of Maria, which did not make anyone happy. It seems to make sense to me that they decide to give the part to Santana (who may or may not be auditioning for Anita in the next episode - I'm not sure) in order to avoid the whole Rachel versus Mercedes dilemma.

It would make sense, but then there is that whole aspect of this being glee. So sense is a by-product more than something to be expected. :D

I totally feel this way: "She understands human behaviour perfectly, but she lacks a basic understanding of logic."

I loved the subtlety yet concreteness of Brittany/Santana this episode. "Brittana are perfect for each other. I still can’t get over how they’re the most mutually supportive and emotionally married couple on the show and they’re not even officially together yet."

I think it may be part why I really enjoy the character of Brittany. I adore human beings, but our religious belief in "logic" makes me so very often eye-twitch even if I use it myself. So she is really refreshing in more ways than one.

I somehow completely missed the part with Santana checking out Rachel. I love how canon that is sometimes. Someday someone should ask Naya what her headcanon for Santana's perception of Rachel is. And it ties in very well with Britt's dislike of Rachel. It's interesting how catty she can be when she's pissed at people - it's a side of Britt I kind of enjoy seeing every once in a while.

Santana as Maria would be really exciting. And it would be great if Rachel and Mercedes were too busy bickering over it and then Santana suddenly comes in and sweeps out of the role from under both of them.

But yeah. Sometimes Brittana are just too endgame to believe....It's amazing.

The Rachel thing makes me smile every time. It's probably only meant as hate and/or jealousy, but it plays so damn well as a shameful infatuation. Naya seems to be quite down with the workings of the fandom so I wouldn't be completely surprised if she knew about it and play with it. Either way it keeps appearing and I keep loving it. :D

Agree completely about Kurt. Way to completely one-side him and box him in, Ryan. Jesus, we get it.

It’s not easy having an OTP that is this much superior to every other couple out there, but I’m sure I’ll manage, somehow.

BAHA! I KNOW RIGHT!?

Jesus H, their scene. Just everything.

I don't know if I want Santana in teh musical at all to be honest, I think her character would have more interesting stories outside of being caught up in the musical which seems to be an ongoing story spanning a lot of episodes. Plus I'm not overly familiar with the musical in itself (seen it once or twice) so I can't really remember any of the songs or characters that well, but gonna have to yt America and Boy Like That now. That said there is a small part of me that wants to see Santana in the musical as Maria only to see her freak out as she has to perform, "I feel pretty". Yes, I am unusually cruel.

Ryan is actually the best one to craft an episode together, he doesn't leave any holes in the plot and for the most part it is actually consistent. Only problem is his take on Kurt and Rachel are my least favourite versions of those characters.

Yeah, ya know, I'm not sure where the assumption of Santana being in/trying out for the play is even coming from. She doesn't have a solo in this weeks episode, and that episode 3 summary post that's been floating around didn't say anything about her auditioning. Maybe because it says the part of Anita is casted?? But, this whole "battle," or at least upcoming, over Maria kind of feels too much like the competition for prom queen last season, where none of the people vying for it will get it. So, if that's the case then maybe Santana will be the unexpected winner of Maria once the show comes back from it's mini-hiatus after 3x03. Definitely check out, "A Boy Like That," and just imagine anyone but her singing it. I think she'd be the best one to pull off the passion and frustration and betrayal that's needed ( ... )

Yeah, I'm not quite sure where it came from either. I've gotten so tangled up in spoilers and foilers and speculation that I feel downright dizzy.

Oh, Santana could make for a very cool Anita. I think I could like this.
