Rayne, to be frank, was not in a good mood. Her night had been horrible, as all of her nights were, except this night had had the addition of a snot nosed little brat who seemed to think he could play with the big boys. And so far, her morning hadn't been a damn lick better. The mirror had unnerved her, and she was already on edge, being in a new place that had air tainted with the bare hint of rot and decay.

Dressed in her usual daytime garb - leather clothes, blades, and large cloak that covered every inch of self - she certainly was a sight, though it was her words and tone that probably was more offputting, snarling as she walked out of the restroom area, ears ringing with the scream.

"Would you shut up!?"

To say Kaoru was startled would be an understatement. His scream was stifled immediately and from his spot on the floor he stared wide eyed and terrified up at Rayne, tears rolling freely down his cheeks. He carefully got up off the floor, taking a few tentative steps backwards as he tried to decide whether it was in his best interest to run and get out of here. His legs were shaking, his heart was pounding and he wanted desperately to reach out and grab one of those chairs to steady himself but...but...oh God.

Someone...someone dead was there.

"I-I..." he swallowed hard, trying to find his voice again. "I'm sorry."

"You must be new." She muttered with a sneer, walking farther into the room. Making her way to the nearest corpse, she pried the gun out of it's hand, not bothering to be gentle. It's not like she could feel anything anymore, anyway.

"Here's some advice then. Get used to dead bodies." Rayne continued, looking in the gun, frowning and tossing it aside when she found nothing. "Because you'll be seeing a lot of them here." Moving to the next corpse, she started to process with the gun again.

Quickly, Kaoru covered his mouth and turned his head away. Just seeing Rayne touching the bodies made him feel sick. Kaoru was in many ways incredibly sheltered and naive. For so long the world had only been composed of just him and his brother and they never bothered to open the door and take a look outside. They'd never had to face death before...

As he tried to slow his breathing, he reached up and wiped at his face with the back of his hand. Sniffing, he faced the red head once more, but quickly looked away when he saw her touching yet another corpse.

"I..." he hesitated, looking down at the floor, afraid to look. "Why are they dead?"

Kaoru didn't seem to have understood the gravity of her words - that this was a sight he should get used to. Getting used to death was something unimaginable and, perhaps unconsciously, he ignored that bit of information.

Checking each body, and each gun, Rayne growled as she tossed the last gun away, watching it skid across the floor. Having grown more and more annoyed as each gun produced no ammo whatsoever, the rather stupid question (In Rayne's opinion.) did nothing to help her already foul mood. What kind of fucking question was that?

"You're a bit of an idiot, aren't you?" She darkly asked in reply. "They have guns in their hands, holes through their skulls, brain matter is everywhere, and you're asking why they're dead?" The dhampir scoffed, glaring at the boy in annoyance. "It's called suicide, you jackass, and these people were obviously weak enough to take that route."

No, they really weren't getting any sympathy from her. If they were stupid enough to obviously take the bait of a set of loaded guns, all with one bullet, just because they didn't have the balls to survive this place... Then they deserved their fate. And Rayne wouldn't shed a damn tear, or say a single prayer over it.
