picspam: favorite characters of the decade
First, can I just say how difficult it was to narrow down this list? There have been so many great characters in TV and movies in the past 10 years.. if I could have, this list would have been much longer. I left out book characters that are now in movies (Harry Potter, etc.) because.. well because there are so many and I'm running out of time to do this list! So basically these are some of my favorite people over the past 10 years that have made me smile and really enjoy movies and TV. :))

I'm obsessed with squirrels and I always picture them acting like this in real life -- very hyper and a fan of cookies. :D I just can't help but smile whenever I see (or hear!) Hammy!

Have you seen Tropic Thunder? Because that's another movie that Robert Downey Jr. is amazing in. And by far the best character in that movie was Kirk Lazarus -- a.k.a. RDJ playing an Australian guy playing a black guy. Good times.

So I just got into The Office this past summer (blame the library.. they have all the DVDs!) and while I love Jim, Dwight is just a whole other level of awesome. He's so.. I don't know the right word to describe him. There are so many times when he's said something and you sort of have to do a double take and say what?? did he really just say that? But I know for a fact that I'll be laughing anytime he's on the screen!

She is by far one of the coolest moms on TV. I loved watching her on Gilmore Girls. It was great to see a mom and daughter who could really understand each other and be such good friends. Also, I'm partially blaming her for my addiction to coffee.

I kind of wish he was my dad. :P Friday Night Lights is an amazing family show. And at the center of the show is Coach Taylor. He really is a remarkable man. The inspirational words of advice and support he gives people allow them to achieve anything they set their mind to.

Who doesn't love a bad boy? Throughout the show though Sawyer is becoming more and more likable (although I've always found him attractive :P). In the beginning of the series Jack is sort of the one you want to root for, but at the end of the 5th season Sawyer had my full attention. I can't wait to see what happens in the final season, although I'm going to be very sad this is the last. :(

Veronica Mars. Snarky and persnickety. But lovable at the same time. I wish I was like Veronica Mars when I was in high school.

Dean -- he has that I couldn't care less attitude and I love it. He's one tough guy and a badass hunter. But I love the depth you see in him, especially in the last two seasons. And while he tries to keep his feelings hidden, every once in a while you get to see them and that makes me like him so much more.

All of the characters on Firefly were memorable, but Mal stands out much more than any of the others. He was a great leader and good in a sticky situation. He was caring and compassionate but knew how to get business done. It's just so unfortunate that Firefly didn't even get one full season (curse you FOX!!) -- there's so much more I would have loved to see from him.

How could Jack not be number one?? He was a huge part of this decade. And honestly, I think I'll love anything Johnny Depp is ever in. :P But just the way he portrayed Captain Jack was fantastic -- I think it would be hard to find anyone that wasn't a fan of his.
