I'm currently working on your commission, mithrigil! I am sorry for the wait. I do have more free time now, although all of last week I spent preparing for artist of the year...it's just another art depression I get into every so often. But, yeah. WIP ( Read more... )

I don't really know the deal about Dreamwidth. To me it looks exactly the same as LJ, but with more limitations, so I don't see what's so different about it.

I haven't read up on it either, but it uses nearly the exact same formatting as LJ, so I'm wondering what it's supposed to be about.

Doujinshis are always a killer! On English sites, they cost a lot, but on Japanese ones, they never ship it out of the country...

and theeen, there's the Hetalia calender. With wonderful art work. another killer.

Aaaanyways, Hi hi! XD

Yeargh, the doujin itself is only about 5-6 USD, but add on 8-9 USD shipping, and it starts to add up. D:

*waves back* :)

I have never bought doujinshi either. D8 I hope you'll be able to.

Oh I agree. <3 The Hetalia calender looks so pretty. Thats great that you'll most likely be getting it.

Dreamwidth? Oh wow, I have never heard of that either, LOL. *shot*

I hope so too~

Isn't it, though? I looked at the artist list and thought, wow, there's going to be some good art in that calender. *_*

I've been reading up a bit on Dreamwidth. It's basically an offshoot of LJ, run by a number of people who worked for LJ for some years, with the intent of customizing the service further than LJ ever got to comply with the needs of the creative community. A potential alternative or future home for fannish activity. Other journaling sites have had similar hopes pinned on them, but so far Dreamwidth seems like it might actually have the chops to succeed.

The reason why there's 'limited admission' to Dreamwidth, as it were, is because they're just starting out - they're on their second beta still and they don't have the server space or the manpower right now to open the site fully to all comers. It's the same system LJ used back in the day before it fully took off and a product of necessity, not really an elitist thing.

Ah, that makes sense! I did hear something about there being an option for rating art, and I was intrigued by that.
It does seem to be growing pretty fast, so hopefully things progress smoothly from here on out.
Thanks for clearing that up!
