Huzzah for summer squash!

Our paw-paws still aren't ripe! *impatient* I will have to go to the farmer's market again for more peaches instead.

I was just talking with someone Wednesday about paw-paws. (We were sampling a paw-paw beer, but it was made from frozen paw-paws from a few years ago.) I honestly can't remember whether I've ever had a fresh, ripe paw-paw. Might need to work on fixing that.

You can get frozen paw-paws? Where? I thought that the fruit was too soft to do anything useful besides eat fresh or make into jam.

You can find paw-paw trees in a lot of the national forests and state parks. I know that locally, Sky Meadows State Park has a *ton* of paw-paw trees along their easy forest walking path. You are far enough south that they might already be ripe and gone, though.

Paw-paw beer sounds weird. I'm picturing banana-flavored beer.

What I was told is they were fresh paw-paws that were brought / sold to the brewery, then the brewer froze them because he didn't have an immediate plan for how to use them. Tasting the beer produced, I didn't get much of a fruit flavor from it. Most of the flavor came from the hops since it was an IPA style.

You that phenomenon when you hear or become aware of something, and then it pops up everywhere? I'm having that with paw-paws. First was last Wednesday. Then your comment. Then again over the weekend on our caving/camping trip.
