In order to put the house on the market, we're working on de-cluttering. I think we were cluttered when we moved from the apartment. No wonder we're getting squeezed out of this small house! Most of my personal clutter is in the kitchen and clothing (such a girl) but the rest of it, like any good geek, is books and media. In a way, I'm looking ( Read more... )

I will concede to your point that FF13 is probably the most beautiful Final Fantasy out there... well... ever. It's got wonderful battle animations, and they really are finally reaching the point where facial animations look realistic. There's just a lot to the game that I wish was better. I think maybe I really have become spoiled by Western RPGs where I can go anywhere and do anything... I felt so constrained as to be uncomfortable. And for whatever reason, I really just couldn't connect with most of the characters. I think I may actually hate Hope because, like you with Vanille, I feel a note of the familiar in the character.

As to Darker than Black, we decided to play 40k last week instead of watch, since you guys couldn't show, so the ending to the series is still waiting for you! :D

Yes, I will agree that XIII is the best looking of all the FF games. But that's only because the technology is there. I do like all the characterizations other than Hope. I found him annoying at the start, but at least I could understand why and accept that. When he does the whole 'face turn' that was too sudden and totally ruined whatever they were trying to build him out to be. I mean you don't go from 'I hate you for killing my mother' to 'The world is roses, let's go save it!' in the span of one night. I'm sorry, but things like that take time and growth and it's not something you can do overnight. They really built up Hope's character (I hated the character but I would admit it was good story) and then sneezed on it and tossed it out the window as Snow jumped and saved Hope. Either that or Hope is so fragile a character in game and in story that he needs a good psychitrist as well as some heavy body armor ( ... )
