This imagery couldn't be more perfect, and I do so love the idea of McCoy keeping old-fashioned medical equipment around and using it regularly. Wonderful job on this!

Many things occurred to me as I read this piece -- I liked it very much -- but what stood out was a detail, a careful phrasing. Spock only ever refers to the destruction of the Narada and their return to Earth, he does not refer to the destruction of Vulcan. He refers to Vulcan, he remembers his mother and their conversations, but he does not go further. Fascinating, telling detail.

There is so much here that I think I need to read it again, when I'm not supposed to be preparing for a meeting.

Thank you for posting this thought-provoking piece.

Yes, I think he hasn't fully accepted it yet in this story, and is maybe focussing on the Jim thing almost as a familiar problem that's easier to deal with, although that's kind of in the background.

Thank you :)

Oh, I love your dreamscape and how the sea in its mutability is Jim. Brilliant and wonderful. ♥
