It's the middle of the night when the door to the room in a small inn is silently, slightly opened, casting a weak light into the bedroom. Though it's hard to imagine that anyone's asleep, especially on a night like this, this is still a time for resting. It's a time to regain strength before tomorrow, when the fighting starts. Before lives are in ( Read more... )

Stella...?

[ Fia turns over once she hears her good friends voice. she was alarmed when she felt the warmth of someone else beside her, but as she turns over to face her, she finds that she's glad to have her here. her heart beats a little more quickly, but she tries her best to keep calm. ]

Is something wrong? We need to wake up early tomorrow...

[ Good, she's awake, is all she can think as she settles herself beside Fia. ]

I wanted to talk to you about something...is it okay?

I'm frightened of dying tomorrow.

[ It's simple enough to force a little quaver into her voice, just as it is to lay her cheek to Fia's shoulder, breathing warmth against her neck. ]

Alone and unloved as I am...it's an awful thought.

[ Link was actually asleep, but as he feels the presence of someone beside him he wakes with a start- he recognizes her scent, though. it's Stella. he's confused as to why she's here, but a part of him is happy, too. he doesn't quite understand the feeling but he rubs his eyes, turning over and looking at her.

she's smaller than him- thinner and prettier. he always made sure to do his best to protect her as they travelled. it was his job, but... there was something else, too. something he didn't quite understand.

it was the part of him that was really happy she was in his bed right now too. ]

I'm awake.

Good.

[ She lets herself stretch out beside him, close enough to fit on the bed with relative ease, resting her head against his chest. ]

I'm worried about tomorrow.

[ She isn't, not as much as she makes herself sound; but it isn't difficult to believe. Not when she knows full well about the dangers of tomorrow. ]

[ Link moves closer, shifting so he can wrap an arm around her- like a hug. he likes being close to his friends. ]

You can stay here.

[ with him. ]

[ It's nice. She rests a hand on his side, just above his hip. ]

Is that fine with you?

Black Lady wasn't usually in the business of protecting other people, but she was trying to turn over a new leaf. She'd gained quite a reputation as an evil person long ago, and since then she'd been making amends in her own way. She was still rough around the edges, but she usually meant well. Being a bodyguard to someone so important actually surprised her, but Stella had chosen her above all the others, who was she to argue?

Unfortunately she was a heavy sleeper, sprawled out in a very unladylike fashion in her bed. There was just enough room for someone to slip in a round her extended limbs. The words weren't enough to wake her, but feeling someone warm beside her got her to mumble something about cake. It took a couple seconds more for her to start coming around. "What's going on? Is it morning already?"

"No, not yet." She was smiling softly, lying on her side and propped up on one elbow. At least Black Lady was awake now, though it had taken some time at first. Though she could hardly be considered an impatient person, she wasn't quite in the mood to wait tonight. "You don't mind that I'm here, do you?"

Since it wasn't morning, she began to think there was something wrong. That helped get Black Lady to wake up faster, but since Stella looked so comfortable she didn't try to get up yet. It wasn't what she expected; usually people wanted to keep far away from her. Stella had been nothing but nice to her, and she felt almost happy sometimes around her.

"No," she said, a little confused. "Is something wrong?"

She shook her head, thin strands of hair falling over her shoulder. "I'm afraid." It was rare for her to speak her mind that easily, but considering what had to be done the next day, perhaps she was thinking that it was the last day to do so. "Is it fine if I stay here with you?" For now, she had only to hope that she wouldn't be turned away.

"I am." Comes the low, deep voice of the man protecting her--M. Bison. He was the shadiest of the shady types, an evil, corrupt man. Still, something had him acknowledging her gifts and abilities and more than that, personally protecting her. Maybe he wanted to see what would happen for him, or to others.

Either way, he was awake, and slowly M. Bison sits up, all large and powerful muscle. "Can't sleep, my dear?"

She didn't sit up as he did, only half-propped herself on one arm and looked up at him, something close to admiration in her eyes. "I tried to, but I just can't manage it." Frowning slightly, she added, "it's too quiet and empty in that room."

"Ah. So then, you only wish to talk?" Bison sees the look in her eyes and lightly cups her chin.

"Or have you come for something else?"

Her gaze falls at that, humbly or maybe bashfully. "I didn't only want to talk, but...only if it's fine." After all, it's better to find out if she's considered a bother before she says too much.
