... bugger!

After several emails and getting passed about like a hot potato, I finally get an answer from ITV.... 'The second series of Distant Shores will not be scheduled in the foreseeable future.'

… what is going on there? Is it because ‘Doc Martin’ is so popular over here and too similar? Or is it because the series may be too crap to show a ( Read more... )

Actually, it's probably a compliment to the show in an odd way, for having high production values, and thus costing them too much. ITV has a serious financial crisis at the moment, due to the drop in demand for their advertising (which is what allows them to buy and broadcast TV shows, after all ( ... )

Well, more hope than if the show didn't actually exist and was reliant on their funding to pay for the shoot :) This way it might appear on dvd (or, er, 'elsewhere') before it ever gets to UK screens.

it has been filmed, and has even aired in Canada and....hmmm, where was that? Don't we have a happy group member who's seen the program?

Now we just have to find out where it's been sold, and find a person willing to, um, share.

We should start up a "Free Hildasay" campaign. I have several caps of a weepy Bill Shore that could be the cover of our informational brochures and posters.

If I'm not completely wrong they have aired the second series (and of course the first) here in Finland. It's kinda odd 'cause they never show anything good here. But I don't complain 8) It was a great show.

Yeah, shitty spoilers coming up.

I can't quite remember everything that happened but as far as I can remember there was a happy ending. Bill and Lisa almost broke up (or they actually lived separated) because there was a woman that had a crush on Bill (they had had sex when they were young) and she tried to hit him or something like that. I can't remember all the excuses why Lisa was mad at Bill.
Some people (including that woman) tried to get the island so they could use it for wind power or something and it kinda messed the people on the island. The owner of the island (?) died and his only relative came and made Kate pregnant and fell in love with Laney and stuff. There happened a lot that I can't remember or don't know how to tell but in the end the Shores got the island! Like, they own it now.

I'm sorry I'm not good in explaining! I can't explain stuff even in my own language :D
