The thing of it was, while Rory didn't have a lot of experience tramping through muddy jungles while being chased by imposing reptiles, he had enough and he didn't have the energy to whinge about it ( Read more... )

Amy knew better than to say that the past week had been easy. If asked, she'd hem and haw her way around giving an honest answer. It wasn't that the people here weren't nice and that the whole dinosaur bit was interesting. The rain had even stopped which made the whole thing a bit easier to stomach.

That didn't make it alright. It just made it livable. For now, until she managed to find a way out of here or make her boys, her proper boys get here safe.

Flipping through some magazine she'd picked up off the shelf, her attention wasn't on who was sitting where. People had a way of being under foot (or bum as the case may be) and she was halfway seated in the seat before noticing someone else was already there.

"Oh, whoops," she laughed, springing fully to her feet once again. Flipping her hair over her shoulder, she shrugged and tried to brush the whole thing off as she turned to face the poor soul. "Suppose this thing was more engaging -- wait, hold on a minute, Rory?"

This was one of the things that Amy was certain she would never get sick of. If she was the type of girl who kept lists, this would be marked at the top. She knew kisses, knew how to read into them and when not to. Kissing Rory had never required much reading. There was nothing complex about it and that made it perfect. Made it divinely Rory no matter what had happened or who was chasing them.

Who the hell cared what sort of person might walk in and see them? If their new neighbors were going to talk, than she was going to give them something to talk about.

Breathless and smiling, she broke the kiss pressing her forehead against him.

"Atta boy Rory," she murmured. "Missed you."

"Love you," he murmured back. It wasn't a thing said often, if only because it didn't need saying. Despite his scoffs, his once-upon-a-time grumping and insecurities, Rory was wholly and absolutely Amy's, in a way that bled into everything he did. He said 'I love you' with nearly every look.

"So," he said, stealing a deep breath, his eyes half shut and his thumb rubbing gently against Amy's cheek. "What do we do now?" A simple enough question, but it was funny just how wary of the answer Rory actually was.

She could feel it in her chest, a dull throbbing that she remembered not knowing what it meant. Amy knew now, knew that it was meant for Rory. He was with her, remembered or not and nothing, not even a silly island could make her forget how much she loved him.

It didn't need to be said, she just know. "Love you too." Shrugging her shoulders, smile on her face she thought about turning her head to look about but didn't. "Oh I could think of a lot of things. Some are nice, some are naughty."

He had meant what they were to do in the bigger picture, but there was only so much wrestling Amy down to solid ground that he could do before he knew well enough to give up. And after the last few days he'd had, and the many days before that, Rory didn't really want to be the responsible one either.

His smile grew, growing excited (not like that). "Then let's get to them, Mrs. Williams."
