Beat ain't sure what the party's for, but it ain't stoppin' him from stickin' 'round. He figured he had nothin' better to do anyway, an', truth be told, the food looked pretty good. He ain't one to ever pass that up.

After gettin' a plate of food, he found a seat and sat in it, pickin' at the stuff. He probably wouldn't stay long, but for the moment, he was pretty content where he was.

At first, I wasn't sure I should go over. I hated that just looking at me could make a guy feel bad, and that it wasn't anything to do with me, or something I'd done. Totally out of my hands. But still, Ryan looked almost happy, and I was glad to see it. Of course, I didn't realize then that it wasn't Ryan.

"Hey," I tentatively greeted as I approached. "How're you doing? If you don't want to look at me, I can run away right now, just say the word," I promised with a sheepish little smile.

Beat's eyebrow rose at the girl talkin' to him. He ain't sure they ever met before, but she was sure actin' like they had.

"Uh," he began, after swallowin' the mouthful of food he had. "Ain't sure what you're talkin' 'bout, but you don't gotta leave or nothin'."

I'll be the first to admit that I had never been to Chino much less hung out there long enough to know how people talked there, but I was pretty sure that accent wasn't Californian. I winced.

"You're not Ryan," I slowly replied, embarrassed. "Sorry about that. I had no idea he had a look-alike already." I thrust my hand out. "I'm Shari."

Just when Alec thinks he's staring to get the gist of this place, there's always something new to surprise him. This time it's just a party. And maybe it makes sense, maybe a bunch of delusional people stuck on a faraway magical island that may or may not all be just a part of Alec's apparently twisted psyche require the need to just get drunk and get laid every once in awhile.

And hey, he's down with that.

Alec hovers over the table completely covered in food, picking grapes one by one out of a bowl and popping them into his mouth, each one sending tiny little explosions of sweetness across his tongue as he bites into them. The alcohol's not the best he's ever had, but it's better than nothing and he tips his head back to wash down the sweetness with a large gulp of the stuff and exhales dramatically.

"Now, his," he says, to no one in particular, "this is what I'm talkin' about."

The dress she'd chosen for that night's party was a very flattering shade of green and hugged her curves in all the right ways. The alcohol was the island's usual fare; that was to say, mediocre, and she couldn't help but wish for a party like the one so many months ago that had mysteriously supplied her with shaoxing wine.

"Well, if it isn't the hùndàn," she said as she spotted Dean's younger twin, a smile spreading across her face as she made her way over to him.

Wiping the back of his wrist across his mouth, Alec glances over and gives her a slow, approving look. He recognizes her immediately, but the dress is a nice touch. A very nice touch.

"Oh, we've moved onto pet names so soon?" he replies, resting against the side of the table. "And, I haven't even gotten to see you naked yet."

She tilted her head to look up at him, a smirk playing at her lips. "Kind of hard to call you anything else when I don't know your real name, sugar," she said. "It seemed fitting, anyhow." As for seeing her naked, well, he'd have to be a good boy first. Or a bad boy. It really depended on her mood.

Parties on the island always meant free food and alcohol, which was about all Gideon needed as a reason to go partake in the shit that was going on. It helped Penny had wanted to go, too, though that one he wouldn't fucking admit to.

It didn't take him long to have a drink in hand. He'd probably eat later, but for now, this was enough. Hanging out and looking around to see who he spotted while Penny did her thing. She was way more social at these fucking things than he was.

Jim's already got a drink in his hand even though he just arrived; while he doesn't exactly go around drinking every day on the island, he never passes up an opportunity when there's a party to be had. And when there's a party to be had (or free alcohol and other things), he usually manages to find Gideon.

"Hey," he says, finding his way to his side. "Another one, huh?"

Not that there've been that many parties in recent days.

"Starting to thing people throw this shit just to throw it," he snorted, looking amused. "Not that I'm fucking complaining."

He was definitely not minding the free shit, even after nearly a year on the island. It was so much easier than stealing stuff.

"Guess some people just don't have much else to do," says Jim, grinning as he enjoys his drink. "Guess I'm one of 'em. I think my girl's somewhere around here too...."

Chuck wasn't generally a fan of huge parties where he didn't know anybody, and his sister tended to throw them fairly often. Like, for his birthday the previous year. Though, for once, Chuck actually knew a good many of the people attending the gathering that his sister and her now fiancee were throwing, so he could relax enough to grab a drink or two and try to blend in with the crowd.

Summer saw the familiar face and scampered over to him.

"Chuck! Hi! Remember me, Summer, we met on the beach, you thought I was someone else and I was totally crazy because I didn't believe that I was on an island, still don't. Hi!"

"Yeah-- yeah, hi!" Chuck said, momentarily caught a little off-guard. "Summer, right?"

Though it was kind of hard to forget the girl with the bunny who was a dead ringer for his ex-girlfriend.

"Right!" Summer chirped brightly.

"So this island...kind of wacky, huh? After I talked to you, I totally saw this girl who was a short version of my best friend. No wonder you thought I was this other girl."

Zia was never really that comfortable at parties - Desiree had been the one that liked them back when he was home and alive. He knew he promised himself he'd make a concentrated effort to not be so prone to shying away from stuff like this, and so there he was.

First, though, he was going to get a drink. With alcohol being offered - stuff that probably didn't taste like watered down piss, even - he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity.
