He was a big dog, a black lab / border collie mix. He sat in front of Rictor without even a look at Nita, his tail thumping on the floor as he clearly was waiting to be petted.

Then Rictor grinned at the dog and started scratching behind his ears. Despite never having a dog of his own, Rictor was definitely a dog person and he liked that this one seemed pretty friendly right off the bat. "Is he yours?"

Ponch's tail thumped on the ground, and he moved closer, his paws on Rictor's knees. C'mon! Don't stop petting me! This one's a good one!
Nita recognized the wiggle Ponch did as he hopped closer, and rolled her eyes. "No, he's-" And then she stopped. Kit... Kit'd been gone since September. "Yeah, I guess he's mine." She paused, then sucked in a breath and forced a smile, licking her lips. "His name's Ponch. Oh, and I'm Nita."

The dog was very friendly and Rictor laughed before petting him some more.
"Well, it's nice to meet both of you," he told Nita, giving her a friendly smile. "I'm Julio Richter, but most people just call me Rictor."
