Author's Notes: Will, being an impatient young man of 15, hasn't yet experienced a time in dark space that was this long. It's been hours, and he wants out.
Hours now. It had been hours. Will was getting a little worried. He stood in the form of a heavy statue, surrounded by the chilled air of Dark Space. He had come to the pyramid in search of the Mystic Statues, but he could not transverse the many rooms by himself. He needed the help of his guardians. But it had been so long, so many hours since Shadow had left. Will couldn’t wait. He thought something had happened, and he’d be stuck here. He couldn’t fail now. Shadow promised he'd be back as soon as possible, and Freedan was ever constant at reminding Will that it was always boring here, and it just seemed longer than it was really taking.
But what could he do? Freedan’s statue remained still, but, when not talking, he occasionally would shift stances, and rest his armored arms on the hilt of his sword lazily. Will thought the statues were magic to be able to move. It made sense.
Where is he? Will could understand why the knights always seemed so very eager to walk the earth freely again. He had been here only hours, and they had been here for nearly a millennium. Then the gate opened again, and his heart bounced to life as Shadow leapt in. He gave a glance to Will and shook his head with a look of sympathy, able to tell the energetic boy was going stir-crazy, but it was not his time to go yet. It was Freedan’s turn to acquire a hieroglyph, and Will would have to stay longer.
Freedan’s living form appeared in front of the pedestal his statue once stood on, and in it’s place, Shadow had become frozen in stone again. The Dark Knight looked to Will with a look, “Don’t worry. I’ll let you out soon.” He said to Will, who nodded.
Don’t be long, okay? Will sat there, again, for a long, long time. Shadow stayed as quiet as Freedan had been bored, and Will was sure he had fallen asleep in that statue of his.
Hours he had to wait. It was driving him mad, waiting for his turn to walk again. He trusted the knights though. They wouldn’t keep him much longer.
