The plan

I helped my parents with their house, and my house is almost secure. Front yard, living room, most of my bedroom, half of my back yard, part of the kitchen.

I have to empty my fridge, figure out which books to bring, figure out which clothes to bring, figure out what other stuff to bring that's valuable to me, finish the back yard, finish the kitchen, finish my bedroom and work on my TV room.

We're planning on leaving at some point in the middle of the night in the hopes to avoid as much traffic as possible. Apparently it was taking five hours to get from Galveston to Houston earlier today. That's a 45 mile trip.

My house was built in 1929. It survived a lot. It will survive this. My major concern is the pecan tree that I can't do anything about, so I've moved everything out from underneath it.

It kinda freaks me out that we're planning on using the route that Jose and I outlined in our when aliens/terrorists attack discussion.

I'm going to be ok. I'll be with people that I love and I know that the stuff that really matters will be ok. My dad is the only one who will be staying in Houston, but he'll be at the hospital, so he'll be ok.

That baltassoc will be with me makes everything ok. I'm picking him up in Austin at 9:25 tomorrow evening and taking him back to the ranch with me and not letting him go.

If the phones work, I'll call someone to let ya'll know that I'm alive.

Oh, and weather gods? I'm really, really sorry for getting pissy with you the other day, but I don't think it's fair to do this to Texas just to get back at me.
