A Night Out [webstunner]

Terry waits outside his favorite Nexus cafe, hands in pockets and whistling, nonchalant as can be. He wonders if he shouldn't have gone back to Gotham, but a nice neutral spot is probably better for a first date.

He keeps any brooding off his face, for once, all smiles and patience.

May, on the other hand, is anything but nonchalant. More like rushing by at the speed of a bullet, until she realizes she accidentally ran past Terry just now. Haha. Whoops.

"Sorry! I- there was a bank robbery and- I'm not sure what got slimed on to my watch but I am a hundred percent sure it's not working now so sorry if I'm late?"

Cue sheepish smile, if that helps?

He grins a little. He knows that experience all too well, and his explanations have never been allowed to sound nearly as exciting. "Just fashionably. It's alright. Bad guys never manage to have the decency to get caught on a reasonable man's schedule." He smiles again and starts heading inside. "C'mon."

May laughs, following along. "I think I can settle for fashionable!"

She is, after all, just a teensy-weensy bit better dressed than usual. Not that she's really expecting him to notice. It's pretty subtle. "Yeah, of course bad guys never follow a reasonable schedule. I don't think they even know what one is... hey wait, should we ix-nay on the tights and capes talk-ay?"

He doesn't really. This has much more to do with the fact that he's not seen May many times before. (A small part of his mind, the kind usually occupied with assessing threat levels, is picking apart her choice of style.

"The people hear are very, very careful not to listen." He appreciates it. "But if you mean we should cut the business chat, I'm all ears!"
