Got to admit it was interesting trying to come up with something suitably wedding related for Sawyer, seeing as he's never been married and I couldn't think who else's wedding he was likely to be at, but good to hear that this worked!
This was really interesting. The one word that comes to mind when I put them all together is 'brittle'. I especially liked the Hurley and Eko sections because they were so unique. It was nice that the Desmond and Penny one ended on a hopeful note. Great work!
I think Hurley's was probably my favourite. I can't remember now who said it but I do remember someone saying recently about Charlie being a better friend to Hurley than Johnny had been (was it janie_tangerine?), so this section came out of that. I just wish Desmond's story could continue on a hopeful note but suspect it won't!
I am SO sorry for not catching this sooner, but, wow!
This is such a great series of little vignettes, these absolutely brilliant little moments :) I, of course, loved Desmond & Penny's in a rather special way--I loved the hopefulness, that happiness that they so totally deserve (in my humble opinion).
But all of them were just fantastic. Little Shannon & Boone were adorable--and really what was great was that all of these were so totally in character, start to finish!
Even Ben & Annie melted my heart a little--and it takes a lot to do that when it comes to Ben. That image of them stumbling over the words of death, knowing what was going to happen to her...I think this is a totally plausible idea of what happened to them, and you wrote it so well.
I've actually found it easier to be sympathetic towards Ben since The Shape of Things to Come after Alex died, and I have to admit I'd love to see more about his past with Annie (I've heard all the Danielle/Libby/Charlotte is really Annie theories, but don't believe any of them!)
Hi feedback challenge that makes me go back on my to read list ;)
Okay, this one was really, really good. I loved how you went and explored everyone's situations. I especially loved Hurley's section (made definitely sense), Kate's (very apt) and Eko's, which was an angle that hadn't occurred to me. The Ben/Annie one was quite an original take and I loved it, while I totally chuckled at Ana buying the dress from Carlyle weddings. Jin's was heartbreaking, I just felt for him. Shannon's was also a great choice and hey, my favorite was totally Boone. I love that you went on that wedding of Shannon's that never gets ficced, but he'd have totally shown up and it'd have gone exactly like that IMHO. Great work!
I'm actually going to go back to Hurley's and expand on that with a fic about how he's reunited with Johnny post-rescue but finds himself comparing the friendship negatively to his with Charlie (computer problems permitting, that will be my entry for the current challenge, but if not, I'm writing it anyway.)
Eko - he's quite underused in fic, isn't he? I know it's an unusual angle for a wedding related prompt, but to be honest the one I was really racking my brains for was Sawyer!
Jin's and Ben's were also among my favourites to write, wonder if we ever will see what happened with Ben and Annie.
