Oh my. Watching those sweet kids choose the white doll made me weep. Good god, it's horrible. I don't know what to say. I'm sorry this even exists. I'm just so sad.

However, that brings up something you may be able to help me with as a knitter... :)My mom makes these awesome dolls "Nana" dolls. her mother made them before she did, and now she makes them for all the kids. She makes the dolls any color combo (hair skin eyes) and she's making ruby a whole bunch of different dolls with different identities (that sounds like they are superhero dolls, well maybe they are :) ). I really want her next doll to be black with little locks, but can't figure out how to have her make them. I'm thinking I'll make icords, and felt them then she can sew them on... but do you think they will continue to felt with each washing (dolls are machine washable). I think we could do some awesome natural nappy hair with mohair, but again the felting could ruin it.

I still have my first nana doll. and I love it more than anything. :)

Wow, that was very hard to watch. I am a white woman but am so saddened by that. Especially the little girls saying the black dolls are bad. I am sad.
