The Big Musumeyaku Questionaire - filled out by a newbie

Dec 22, 2010 17:59

I'm a young Takarazuka fan and still comparatively new to the fandom (I was introduced to Takarazuka in January) and I have a lot to learn. Still, I'll do my best filling out the questionnaire.

name: Camsci (which is a nickname)
age: I just turned 18 last week

Maikaze Rira is most definitely my favourite musumeyaku name as well, though I really like Shirahane Yuri too. And - in extension of those two, of course I must like Maihane Mimi's name. It's such a sweet combination. ♥

Musumeyaku roles that require the actresses to act like three-year-olds.To be honest, I have a pet peeve with this exact sort of role, because I don't dislike the roles themselves - I only dislike them if they are not carried out in the right way. I have an almost obsessive fondness with the Japanese notion of "good/sweet girl" which is also very evident in animanga fandom, in case you have any experience with that (Rosalie from Rose of Versailles, Orihime from BLEACH, Usagi from Sailor Moon, Himeko from Kannazuki no Miko, Rodereamon from SIMOUN, etc.), and I really like the underlying accept and respect for what some would call "old-fashioned" femininity portrayal, but which I would rather call a sort of "hyper femininity". For this exact reason, I love the roles themselves, those roles you call "kawaii" or "immature ( ... )

For me, femininity (and thus, hyper-femininity as well) comes in many different shapes, it's represented both in the "sweet maiden" and in the "mature lady" and I love both ( ... )

Hello and welcome! Bonus points for saying you're a Sailor Moon Michiru fan in your response to flower_ballet. :D

I share a lot of your favorite musumeyaku as well. I gravitate towards older ones with beautiful singing voices and/or refined presences. Cute is good, but only if said musumeyaku is actually cute instead of just trying way too hard, as most of the top musumeyaku pushed forward too soon tend to do. O-Hana, Tonami, Taki-san, Tacchin, Alice, and Mihoko could all do cute really well, probably because they were all such fabulous actresses who could turn around and become noblewomen in the very next scene without batting an eye!

He, thanks.^^
I'd love to reply something intelligent to that, but the only thing I can come up with is...I totally agree with everything you said. :D

"Tonami herself liked it so much she wore it again in her sayonara book. ♥"

- Pity she didn't wear the purple one because I love that one even more, though it doesn't get much stage time. At all.
But the white one is one I'd love to possess too.

"This content-free procrastinatory comment brought to you by my inability even to decide where to begin writing my review of Sabrina. "

- That's actually one of two reasons why I haven't written a single 'zuka review yet - I wouldn't know where to start because there's just so much I love! :D
(The other reason being that I still struggle with the English language.)

Well, thank you then.^^ The problem isn't even that I make mistakes (because if there are some errors in my posts, I know that people will still understand), the problem is that I can't write everything I want to write and can't express all my thoughts properly because that's too difficult and complicated in another language. And if I can't do that, my reviews are boring. -_-

But I'm very much familiar with rambling endlessly about the things I love - I tend to do that when "provoked". xD
