[002] [Location: All over Taxon] Xander Hunting

May 26, 2009 13:00

There is currently one John Winchester stalking down the streets of Taxon. He looks beyond pissed and frankly, fairly scary. He's got a gun at his back and a sword sized machete in one hand. He has every intention of killing Xander Harris and doing it slowly. In the process he's going to find out who did this because Mary didn't fall in love with ( Read more... )

Brigitta's first reaction to the machete and the gun is admiration, quickly followed up by wondering what they're intended for, a brief feeling that she should be scared might cross her mind in between those two but she shoves it down, she's probably far away from him and she is protected after all (a sword is rarely any use against a gun but she tends to ignore that.)

Eventually after a few minutes of staring it crosses her mind that it might be prudent to ask why he looks so angry "What's happened?"

He pulls up short at the hologram, taking the chance to check the area out a little further.

"My wife has been bespelled, hexxed or had something done to her," John answers "by a man named Xander Harris. In less than twenty four hours she's fallen in love with this man she just met. I'm going to find out what he did to her and probably kill him."

Unfortunately Brigitta is still under the love spell (just), and so she'll be giving John a look torn between outrage and horror, nobody is killing her Xander if she's around, nobody at all.

"You can't kill him!" She snaps, glaring at her tablet "it's not his fault that all these people have been falling in love with him, he only wants me after all, I'm not sure why everybody else seems to think that they're in love with him."

Well this only confirmed that something weird is going on. He's going to get to the bottom of it too.

"Riiiight," John responds. "I'll take that under advisement."

Giles isn't used to trouble walking boldly down the street. Trouble, in Sunnydale, likes to stalk in the shadows and skulk in the cemetery. That doesn't make the man with the machete and the gun any less threatening, though.

Giles has a particular dislike of guns.

He hasn't met this man yet, this stranger so obviously on the hunt, but now is not the time to sit back and wait to figure out what's happening. Either something in Taxon needs to be hunted or it needs to be protected from a hunter.

"Pardon me, sir." Giles approaches the man with caution. "Might I ask what the trouble is?"

John stops when the man approaches him, letting the machete dangle loosely in his right hand. "Someone's been working a hex or a spell or...something. I'm going to find out what and take care of it."

"A spell?" Oh dear. He knows at least two people here that can cast powerful spells, and though neither would willingly harm anyone their castings have gone wrong before. "What kind of spell?"

"Within the time span of a couple of hours she's gone from wanting to work our marriage out and loving me to being in love with someone else. Now if it were a different woman I might understand that but it's Mary and I know her better than I know my own self. She doesn't change her mind that quickly. Woman would and has done most anything to keep me with her. This is something that's been done to her," John explains.

Xander, after the aggressively bad day he's had (being hit on by many and various women left right and center) is tired. Emotionally (from all the terror), physically (from all the running away) and mentally (from inventing progressively more ridiculous excuses for rejecting all of them).

Perhaps that's why he's foolishly emerged from his rather excellent hiding place (the Sunnydale cemetery, hardly a hotspot) to find a replicator hatch to program himself a coffee. He didn't want to fall asleep and have one of the crazy ladies catch him unawares, after all.

He doesn't notice John stalking down the street in his general direction, because he's a little busy with deciding what to have with the coffee. To donut or not to donut is a very complex question, after all.

John catches sight of the man at the hatch then glances at his tablet. Sure enough the words Xander Harris are over the dot standing at that precise location on the map.

"Xander Harris," he says, fingers curled tight around the handle of the machete as he moves toward him. "You're gonna tell me what happened to my wife."

Xander looks up when he hears John's voice, his grip tightening significantly on the cup of coffee, and his eyes widening at the sight of the machete.

"MY, that's a... really big weapon that would... probably be fit for hunting a bear. I... imagine." He takes a step backwards as John advances, fearing for his vital organs.

"Your wife?" A half a second pause. "Mary?"

"That'd be her," John nods with a grin that isn't all friendly. It's more creepy and scary than anything. "Now I want to know what you did to her."

A heavily armed man is enough to get Jack's attention. Jack is often out on patrols of Taxon for lack of anything better to do. He takes a small step back when he sees John stalk by.

"Whoa, hey. Where's the fire?" his own instinct made him hold his P-90 ready but he doesn't seem to have much interest in shooting.

John glances up, noticing the gun first then the man's carriage. He's used to carrying a weapon and if John had to guess, he'd say he was former military.

"No fire. Man has done something to my wife and I'm out to find out exactly what it is he did."

Jack's eyes scan over the man's weapons then back up to his face. He shifts his weight, "The machete seems to be a bit much, dontcha think?" Not that Jack wouldn't be doing the same thing if his own ex-wife was involved. But then again, he's come across mind altering stuff before... usually the person it's centered around is the one who knows how to stop it.

"I think the machete will be just right for convincing the man I mean business and I want answers. It sort of scares the shit out of people," John answers. He gives the machete a good look over, realizing he hadn't stopped to see if it was sharp when he'd grabbed it. It was though. He'd always kept his weapons in immaculate shape.

Willow had become extremely sympathetic to Xander's plight. So, this was what it was like back in their junior year, with the hordes of female and her with an ax and yeah. Not good times. Willow was heading back to the library, to see if there was some way to reverse it, when she saw an older man, middle age-ish, but not quite at Giles' age. Her eyes widened when she saw the shotgun and the machete. The giant, Jason-sized machete.

"Your mother never ran a summer camp, did she?" Willow asked, tentatively stepping closer. This man was armed and he did not look quite the happy camper.

"No she didn't," John says with a cursory glance at the woman before he continues walking. He gets the joke, he's just not amused at the moment. "And I'm not set for mass murder."

Not mass anyway.

"Well, that's a relie--" Willow paused, then fell into step beside him, within arm's reach.

"Wait, whaddya mean 'not mass murder'?" Willow asked, concern steadily growing low in her belly. If this man was planning on killing someone, sore ribs or not, she had to do something.

"You brought it up. Jason, mass murder, I'm not planning on it," John says, talking a bit in code as he walks, his strides getting a little longer.
