I am getting to a point where i am beginning to wonder about the longevity of my relationship. I wonder if my gf actually has the character to last. I mean, i care about her, but she just keeps so closed off and distant from me. She also doesn't do any of the cute things she used to do when we first started dating

In my experience, people do that when they're afraid of getting too close because they think they're going to get hurt if they do. But they don't want to end the relationship. So they push you away little by little until you end it yourself, so they don't have to feel bad about it. She's trying to test your love, in a way.
The best thing to do, probably, is tell her she can have some space. Tell her you're not going to leave her, and you'll be ready when she wants to come to you. She'll let out what's bothering her sooner or later. And two things could happen after you talk: you could break up, or she could be devoted to you forever.
Yeah I know. A lot of people have given me that advice when I had relationship problems before and I always had a hard time following it. But they were right every time.
