I have pretty much all the Playzonese in one form or another, but I am having a hard time converting them to a dvd.  It would have been simple to just use my VCR/DVD combo, but I was blocked by copyright. >_Does anyone have any suggestions?  Once I can convert them to a dvd, I ( Read more... )

I've also been looking for ways to convert VHS to DVDs, since I plan to get the VHSes when in Japan ;A; This site has quite a few good info:

Oh apparently the copyright protection is done via Macrovision (a signal which causes a strobe effect when copying, let's just say the tanuki in my icon is the Macrovision and Higashi is the VHS), so you'll need to get a filter/device that'll defeat Macrovision (apparently you can purchase some of these legally o.O)

Or the last resort is to go to one of those stores (but I hear they could be expensive depending on the number you'd like to

A lot of Johnny's VHS are copyrighted, and they cannot be transferred.

But if you want to try anyway, the way that I transfer VHS to digital format is by hooking up my VHS player to digital camcorder, which then is hooked up to my MacBook Pro. I capture the movie using imovie on my computer.
