The poetry I write is more simplistic and old school, lots of rhyming couplets or else limerick style. Some of my favourite classic poems are:
1. Ulysses by Lord Tennyson 2. The poems of Robert Service (The Cremation of Sam McGee, the Shooting of Dan McGrew) 3. Rabbi Ben Ezra by Robert Browning ("Grow old with me, the best is yet to be") 4. Soul Makes a Path Through Shouting by Cyrus Cassells 5. Casey at the Bat by Ernest Thompson Thayer 6. Father William by Lewis Carroll 7. If by Rudyard Kipling 8. On Loneliness by Hafiz 9. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas
Just when the mood strikes me. I went back through my journal and found that I posted a version of the Night Before Christmas in 2017, once on US election day in 2012 and once in 2015 when I was bored.
