Glad to see you are still with us; if this is going to be a regular thing now I'll check in. For as useful as Facebook is for events, sharing stupid things, and getting in touch directly with people, it lacks depth or a large area to deposit something resembling a newspaper column, opinion or otherwise. So, if you have something more complicated to say besides quotable phrases or come here for the party/opening/event, I prefer read blogs.

I agree completely regarding Facebook being a poor place for being verbose; the technology supports it, but there's something about the feel of the site (both the atmosphere and the design) that subtly discourages it. Personally, I prefer posting to a blog and having it auto-update Facebook and Twitter with a link to the real content if appropriate, but most of the tools I've tried for that haven't actually worked.

I'll be trying to drop a word bomb here once in a while, but I tend to be rather inconsistent about such things, so no guarantees. Still, I've been a bit more pensive and writing-prone since I took up meditation recently, so perhaps that will stick.
