some things you can't avoid

Shooting daggers at Angel during the meeting with the client hadn't actually done anything. From his own words, 'You always look like that.' was Angel's defense on why she was still the one accompanying him to the event. Her job for the night was to stay by Angel's side, and keep an eye on the guests with him. There had been rumors of a Voodoo ( Read more... )

David hadn't intended to stop and stare. In fact, he was just passing through really and didn't intend to stop and look at all, but he had thought the first floor of the hotel was empty. Angel and Faith had gone out, and none of Angel's counterparts had stopped in recently -- so there would be no one having use of the office.

It was the rustle of fabric that had caught his attention, and his head snapped in the direction of the sound, already somewhat on the defensive. His eyes scanned the room, and that was when he caught sight of Faith. In a dressHe'd never admit it, because that just wasn't one of those things he let wander around, but he'd always had a thing for legs. He'd never been much of a flirt and while he enjoyed the company of women, he wasn't one to be all that forward about it. It was his own issues, and his own problems, and he wasn't going to dig into it all that deeply, but it just wasn't something he did ( ... )

If she had taken bets on who had been watching her it wouldn't have been David, but then again he was known to surprise her now and again. Taking her foot off the edge of the chair she shrugged, "Just got in. Big ass party was a bust anyway."

Rolling her shoulder she exhaled before she started to pull the pins out of her hair, sending it to her shoulders in loose curls. "Spent all night looking for some creep, and mostly watched Angel try to fend off the steno pool from askin' if he was seeing anyone."

Laughing a bit her fingers went into her hair shaking it a bit since she knew there had to still be things stuck in there, "I swear I've seen Angel go up against some crazy shit, but a perky redhead with serial nodding going on, just isn't his deal."

Rubbing at her shoulder she tilted her head, "Things quiet here too?"

He nodded. "Pretty much. Christopher went out. Dean and Elle did too, but I think they went to a different place. I haven't seen Amy since we got here, April went to bed early, Sam and Jo tend to keep to themselves, Ruby and the angel I haven't seen in a couple days. And Chuck -- " There was a bit of a pause there before he gave her a half shrug. "He's -- Chuck."

Because that really could explain everything.

"Sorry your thing was a bust."

"So, you're up keepin' the place safe for all that wander in. Pretty fuckin' noble of you, considering you just arrived a few days ago." Smirking she gave him a look, before taking a seat on the overstuffed velvet round thing in the middle of the lobby.

Stretching her arms out above her head she shrugged as best she could for a moment, "Don't worry about the banquet, I mean it happens, and in LA, it's either today or tomorrow that something bad'll go down. Angel just prefers it when he knows about it is all. Can't say I blame him, but the natives get restless when big bosses fly into town."
