Adopting Robert Grant and Why is David Cameron, twice

I exist in Limbo at the moment, waiting for my references to come through so I can start work, but this is so much better than having no job to look forward to! I have been so much more productive since I got the offer.

London's selection of intensely random lectures will never cease to amaze me. It meant that cienna and I could happily go to UCL for ( Read more... )

Free lectures are one of the best things ever, I used to go to them all the time, the best was one about the influence of alchemy on 17th century medicine. One of the speakers showed how to turn base metal into gold. [They cheated obviously, but is was a super clever cheat and awesome to watch!]

I am so glad you have found a job! I am still trying. I have applied for a job wrangling cats. Should be interesting.

I have a post up on my lj for xmas cards, go give me your address! Now! Now!

The only thing that annoys me is how quickly they get sold out if you have to book! But that lecture sounds awesome. We're always on the look out for more random things to go to.

I wish you luck with finding a job! I know how hard it is. I'm still waiting for my references...

I shall go sign up for that then. Looking forward to seeing you next weekend my love!

How eagerly you look forward to your chains! The lure of filthy lucre!

There are some good lectures around UW sometimes... I've been to one about the BP Oil Spill at the law school, one about the Pacific Northwest marine ecology, a special invitation to view woodblocks from the Meiji Period, etc. Nothing as awesome as fairies and dragons, though.

Ooh cards.

Too right. I've been without filthy lucre for too long.

London is filled with the crazy! :D

Your cards are always epic. :D

Sounds brilliant, I always appreciate specimens in jars.

We try. Our card for this year is shaping up to be the best yet.

I highly recommend the Grant Museum then. It's small and entertaining and full of jars.

That sounds like a fun lecture!

And I will make a note of that museum, especially since I will be a student at UCL come January.
