The only reason I'm still alive is because i can't imagine putting Jessica and my parents through the pain of finding me dead. Every time this hits, it gets harder to deal with. Game project's completely turned around. Managed to get the death thing Dan suggested working beautifly (including the extra bonus of being able to cheat death by running away from him and grabbing a health item before he catches you). I've gotten camera issues working fine and I have a vending machine for when a character loses all their lives. ( Read more... )

Game project's been pissing me off to no end lately. I keep running into potential gameplay problems that are either multiplayer's fault, the course of events that weren't well thought out, or both. LL actually had a cool idea for once about forming a 'game club' that works kind of like a book club does. The group picks a game to play, then they all play it to the end, helping each other through and discussing it. Help me brainstorm ways that characters in a game can be different from each other besides having different attacks. Assume the game works just like Mario and you have a button to jump and a button to run. What can make playing as characters different?
