essentially yes. the Nano is flash memory and not a hard-drive so it's essentially the same thing but with out so much work for the battery.

I have no idea what flash memory actually is though. I just know it's different then a hard-drive and somehow requires less energy to opperate.

apparently not.

The thing I don't get is the release so many different models so fast, but the prices never seem to really change and the features are a real huge improvement on the last ones.

It doesn't make any sense to me.
