  • Although we are in something of the home stretch for shooting The Early Mixes, when organizing the footage already taken I found that we needed more connecting footage to fill in some of the characters. I love that you posted the check follow up. I remember reading/listening about the saga a year ago, and wondered what happened to the case. Verizon is definitely in the wrong, so this check wins!

ETA: I find it strange that Columbus day is a national holiday. Many consider it to be a "Gee, let's celebrate genocide day!" out on the west coast. Still- awesome to get extra money.

I didn't even remember that Columbus Day was coming up until I got the call asking if I wanted to work on the holiday. As for why it is a national holiday, it was established as one when Columbus was revered for discovering America (because indigenous people and Vikings don't really count) and while people will raise questions about the results of his voyages, they are content to do so whilst taking the day off.

Technically, I know why the holiday was initially created. I just was being petulant, I guess. Interacting with lots of First Nation folks will jade me.

Speaking of discovery, there's a book that details evidence that the Chinese interacted with the indigenous people in 1421. It's an interesting read. The book is aptly titled, "1421."
