I'm gathering together all of the ficbits I've written in those two rounds of memeing over the last few weeks. I've edited for typos and occasionally if something looks egregiously awkward to my eye. And, uh, wow. This entry was meant to take about five minutes. :O It took a lot longer than that, let me tell you.

THERE WAS DAN'N'LEWIS I HADN'T SEEN! The one with Dan's surprise visit makes my heart clench, and the one with the DIY furniture was hilarious and glorious and lovely, and I always always always want more about these guys, this was such a nice thing to come across! And I continue to love the bit where they get caught up in one of Sherlock's cases, and I am SO CURIOUS about the Suits crossover bit *wants MORE*

Okay. Um. Your meme! So here's something I've been wondering. You've said once or twice that writing Dan was really influenced by people you knew growing up, your brother's friends, etc, and I was wondering what has influenced the way you write Lewis, if that's not too pry-ey a question.

Um, the way I write Lewis is a question which could cause me quite a bit of angst. I was talking to my best friend a few weeks back, and he was talking about how he was going to write a working-class character and should he do research? And I was like, "...should I have researched?" (My best friend sighed, as once again I wrenched the conversation around to ME. :D) There is no point to that story, only that... maybe I should have researched.

But as for what I actually did, which didn't really involve research: Dan is basically me, in a lot of ways, and in ways where he is not me he is an aggregate of lots of other people I know. The environment they move through (which is, for this reason, mostly Dan's environment) is completely and entirely mine - his house is mine, the boat that they row to the island is mine, his friends are mine and my brothers', the things he's worried about are the things
