That reminds me of one of my English teachers fervently trying to explain HOW WRONG (AND WHY) it was to say "I am loving you" instead of "I love you" and while I still remember that and always think of it when I hear it "the wrong way" in songs or something, I, uh, have long forgotten exactly why. Something along the lines of it being a temporary present feeling if you say it like that? I don't know.

Hope you feel better soon. Young kids really are germ incubators!

That is because 'love' is a non-continuous verb, and cannot be used in a continuous tense! Except it can, obviously, but it's not formal English.

I'm actually kind of relieved that you haven't read the books! It seemed like, I dunno, an OOC thing for you to do, or to enjoy them at least. But I'm totally planning to read these fics myself. :D

I really hope you enjoy them! I'm trying to parse why I love Near Miss so much, and I can't quite get there. There's just something so wonderfully solid about the relationship.
