A Bored Elle.... superkappa April 30 2009, 06:27:25 UTC
Elle was bored. A bored Elle was many things, but rarely good. Especially when Gabriel was trying to work. Like he was now.

It was hard to concentrate when a beautiful blonde had her arms around your neck, hugging you from behind. “C’mon Gabriel….you’re already ahead of schedule, you always are,” she whined. “Close up shop early.”

He gave an exasperated sigh. “That’s not the point, Elle. It would be unprofessional for me to close the shop at my girlfriend’s every whim.” Especially when said girlfriend had as many whims as Elle did. He would never get any watches fixed that way.

“Stop being such a fuddy-duddy, Gabriel. Besides. The carnival started today. I’ve never been to one of those!”

Gabriel wrinkled his nose a little. “Those things are filthy and run by the weirdest people, Elle. Not to mention they have clowns there. Clowns. I don’t need to say more than that ( ... )

I didn't really have a particular thing in mind. Something dirty and unusual.

I didn't really think about it. In any case, they weren't using their powers in the fic.

A Noah Gray and Gabriel Gray father-son bonding thing. XD

I kinda loved Gabriel's parental moment, for the brief time it was there. Noah can be like any age and it can be heartwarming, angst, funny, whatever you want to do. :-)

Other Kids Have One superkappa April 30 2009, 08:18:41 UTC
It started out as a normal breakfast. Gabriel had made his son his favorite meal. Waffles. Afterward would be Saturday morning cartoons, and then a trip the library. Their traditional Saturday routine. But then Noah broke routine. And Gabriel hated breaking routine.

"Daddy, where’s my Mommy?”

He paled a little, his fork dropping at that question. He pressed his lips a little before answering. “She’s off in a better place now, buddy.” Which wasn’t a lie. She had died during childbirth. He liked to think Elle was in heaven now. A real angel. The thought gave him comfort in harder moments.

“Well, can you get her back, please? All the other kids have ‘em.”

He laughed awkwardly. “I wish I could, buddy. I tried that, but I looked back before we had left the Underworld.”

The kid furrowed his forehead in confusion. “You say weird things, Daddy. Just get her back, okay?” And he set his fork down, running off to go play with Mr. Muggles.

Gabriel sighed, taking his glasses off as he rubbed his temple. If only it was that simple.

I couldn't resist. I love Greek myths, especially that one. Poor Orpheus.

Elle knew it was a bad sign as soon as Peter showed up. Though Gabriel enjoyed his visits with his brother, they were never good. Especially when said brother showed up without his scar, demanding Gabriel to share his power. She had ushered Noah into the other room as the two brothers talked, promising to watch cartoons with them. As soon as she entered the room, she saw Claire and her cronies standing there. Elle’s hands lit up with lightening. She knew better than to let herself be afraid, Knox would only feed off that. There were benefits of being a former Company girl, that was certain. And as Noah ran off to fetch his brother and Peter, Elle let out a scream, letting out a large electrical blast at both Knox and Flint. As the two henchman fried, she felt a bullet from Claire’s gun rip through her shoulder. It hurt, but at least her son would be safe. On her own, Claire would be no match for her, Gabriel and Peter.

Awesome....one thing: "as Noah ran off to fetch his brother and Peter" I think you meant father there.

I did. This is what happens when sleep fails and I go back to ficcing, but in a tired fashion.
