13. Amnesia

'Ne, can you remember me? Do you know who i am?' A voice was echoing in the head of Shige's.
Shige woke up, with cold perspiration dripping down from his forehead. What.. what was that? Who was it ? Why.. why was that voice suddenly coming inside his head?
Every night, without fail, Shige will suddenly have these particular nightmare, where he was at a river, and as he was looking up, enjoying the breeze, the sound came towards him. Was it someone he know? Was it someone that he hated? Who was it? These questions keep flooding into Shige's mind, endlessly. He wants to know who was it, but yet, he couldn't remember anything.
Was there something that he forgot? Was it something important? Shige looked around him, his walls were painted white. Or that, is this not his room? Is he not the Kato Shigeaki that everybody knows? The dream that he had made him so afraid, making him doubtful of everything that was surrounding him. But yet, this was not the first time he felt this, he felt that, he have forgotten something really really important, but he just could not remember what was it..
"Shige!" A voice called for him. Shige turned back, and realised it was Masuda, his all along good friend. Shige greeted him, and together they walked into the school. Masuda had a lover, his name was Tegoshi. Both of them were always together. Envious? No, Shige believed that his true love will come by soon.
"MASSU!!!" Tegoshi shouted upon seeing his lover appearing right in front of him. He pounced into Masuda, giving him a full blast hug. "MASSUUUUU! I'VE MISS YOU!!!!!" Tegoshi screamed, with everybody around him darting glances over to the pair. Shige felt embarrassed, as he use his hands and smacked his forehead, and quietly slipped away.
"Tesshi, you.. you--" Masuda was lost of words. Is he suppose to be happy? "I miss you too," Masuda finally replied, patting onto Tegoshi's head.
Shige was looking at the side. He was feeling a kind of envious, but yet a slight nostalgic feeling was overwhelming. What was it? What was this feeling? Shige decided to skip school that day, yes, to find out about this feeling he have always being getting. Shige walked around the city, hoping that he could remember something. Just then, he passed by a lake. Feeling tired, he layed down, and enjoyed the breeze. Suddenly, a feeling of deja vu overwhelmed him.
"This.. this is exactly the same as my dream.." Shige mumbled. He hurriedly got up, and looked around.
A cold chilling ran through the whole body of Shige's. His head started hurting, what is this feeling? Random scenes started flashing inside Shige's head. What.. what is this? There was a scene where he was smiling so happily, he was holding onto a guy's hand. The guy big warm hand was patting his head, it was felt with warmth, it felt.. so .. real. There was the same guy again, his figure was walking away, Shige was stopping him, but the guy didn't listen. He walked away. Shige was hit by the car, everything came to a blur. Tegoshi? Masuda? Tegoshi was crying? Why..?
Suddenly, Shige regained his composure. He looked around, what on earth is actually happening?
'You're suffering from an amnesia, Kato.' A voice sounded inside Shige's head. Shige looked around, "WHAT THE HELL, goddamn it, just appear whoever you are!!"
'I am no one, I am you, Kato.'
'I am the old you, i am trying to reach to you, Kato.'
The voice died off. It never talked anymore. Shige looked towards the lake, a feeling overwhelmed him, and then everything came clear to him. Yes, as clear as crystal. Shige picked up his steps and ran. He ran, ran all the way to the place.
The graveyard.
Shige went over to the tombstone that was inscribed the words of his beloved. No way, how could he have forgotten? How come he forgot everything? What about Tegoshi? and Masuda? How on earth did they forget everything? Did they even forget his existence?
Koyama Keiichiro.
"Keii..." drips of tears dropped onto the tombstone. A light suddenly shined out, and Shige plunged into darkness.
Shige woke up, to realise he was in a garden. Sitting right at the bench beside him, was Koyama.
"Keii-chan!" Shige stood up, and hugged Koyama.
"Shige, sorry that i left before you. You remembered everything, didn't you? I am glad.." Koyama replied.
"What happened? What happened after that day?"
"I know, it was my fault. I am so sorry for leaving. If i did not attempted to leave, you would not have gotten angry. If you didn't got angry, you would not have rushed out to the road, and i would not have attempted to save you, and i would not have... die.."
"Tegoshi and Masuda were crying because of me. Because at my funeral, they were crying because of my death. Shige, you.. you didn't cry at my funeral. You were too calm, to be true.."
"I begged the guardians to erase your memories. Your memories were unable to be erased at all, because your love for me was so strong.."
"Then, why did you restored my memories again, Keii?" Shige asked.
"I.. I wanted to tell you.. It's time for me to leave. I can no longer stay here, i will be disappearing soon.."
"No.. NO WAY!! KEII!" Shige screamed. No way he was allowing Koyama to leave, he wanted Koyama to be by his side, forever.
"Shige, no matter where i go, you must know, that I've loved you...." Koyama's voice got softer and softer, and he became invisible.
"KEIIIIII!" Shige shouted. When he opened his eyes, he realised he was at the tombstone, the graveyard where he was initially at. He looked at the tombstone beside him.
"Keii, you promised, be with me forever, ne?" Shige said, tears uncontrollably flowing down from his eyes.
Shige, I am sure Koyama will protect you, for eternity..
