It's Gonna Be May drabbles

Oy. My first entry for It's Gonna Be May is proving somewhat more challenging than anticipated! So there are two drabbles to start, and I will edit in the rest as I finish them. Ha ha!

"I love you," Kevin says whenever one of the guys calls to check in. So at least five times a week (Nick likes to call on Mondays and Thursdays). It's a lot more often than he used to say it, when he was there with them all the time. He meant it then, though, too. He misses them all the time now, but it's better. Now when he's with them, he can just watch. It's not his career anymore, he isn't responsible. Now he just enjoys them for who they are. All his little brothers. He loves them so much.

"I love you," Chris says, in a normal tone of voice for once. Then he's back to screeching it at the top of his lungs. "I LOVE YOU, I LOVE you, I love YOU, I LOVE YOU, ILOVEYOU." He's been at it for forty-five minutes, and he shows no sign of slowing down. Everyone but Lance has long since bailed for the quiet room, unable to cope with Chris's weird, frenetic energy this close to showtime. "I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE." The words have lost all meaning, but Lance knows that he means it every single time.

"I love you," Nick says. He whispers it into soft hair, trying hard not to wake anyone up. He has to say it, though, he's so full up with it inside that he feels like he'll burst if he doesn't put it into words. He didn't think it would be like this. He'd been jealous for months, worried that he would be forgotten once Brian had someone more important to take care of. It's so different than he'd thought it would be. He's not jealous at all. "I love you," he murmurs again, and settles Bailey back into his crib.
