Maraich had set out some fresh chocolate chip cookies.

He himself wasn't doing too much in particular for a party. Instead he was relaxing on the couch and reading a cheesy romance novel - which also happened to be a murder mystery.

Ashura came over and snagged a cookie from one of the plates, munching on it before coming over and tapping the pages of Maraich's novel.

"Enjoying yourself?"

Maraich didn't snack much himself. He was rather vain about his looks and usually took great care in how he ate and exercised.

"It's interesting. I think his half-sister did it."

What "it" was the world may never know.

He laughed, his fingers mildly playing with Maraich's hair for a moment before he went to pour himself a glass of water and taking a seat on the love seat, facing Maraich.

"Do you want a cookie if you are right?" he inquired teasingly.
