How the fuck had Mindy talked him into this? Jason had to resist wondering that aloud again as he made his way through the crowds to the food court. It wasn't like the guy (if that really was a guy) in the photo wasn't appealing or anything. As far as alien elvish fantasy princesses went, anyway. It was just that this wasn't his thing. It wasn't in the plan, it didn't have anything to do with Bruce or Dick or the goddamn clown. There was no higher purpose to it. It was just ( ... )

The former king looked up from his slow consideration of a marshmallow on his tongue and swiftly swallowed when he figured the man hailing him was Jason. Well, he seemed a tad younger than he had thought, but then Ashura's understanding of the human aging process was not all that great. He rose from his chair, revealing his almost six foot height, and the hair that flower down to nearly the floor.

He let his lips spread up in a gentle smile as the young man approached, inclining his head the slightest bit in greeting to his 'date'.

"Jason, I presume," he said in that cultured voice of his, thick and flowing like a river. "I am Ashura-ou, your... date." The way he said it made it clear that the concept of a date was as foreign to him as it was to Jason, but he did not let that make him nervous or uncomfortable.

Great. It was a dude and he talked weird even by Justice League standards. Fan-fucking-tastic.

"... Right." Jason tried (and failed) not to snort a little as he held his hand out as if to shake. That wasn't a typical date greeting, but it seemed a little awkward to hug or kiss someone he'd only just met and this kid seemed more formal than even the Princess.

"So are you hungry, or do you wanna go straight to the movie theater?" On the one hand, the greasy smell from the pizza place was kind of calling to him. On the other, weren't you expected to have manners on dates? That sounded unduly complicated.

Thankfully Ashura had learned that a proffered hand was usually for a handshake. He took it, his grip surprisingly strong for how slight he looked. It proved appearances could be deceiving.

But at the suggestion of what to do he blinked, looking terribly, innocently lost as he tried to muddle through what the other had just suggested. Not that he thought it was anything bad, he just had no earthly idea what Jason was talking about. Ah, the wonders of being thrown from a medieval world into one of technology.

"What is a movie theatre?" he asked.
