Un-sorrowful things for a break in your day

IDK about you, but when tragedy strikes the world, I have a tendency to shut down and get too caught up, so here are things as an emotional sorbet, should you find (like me) that you need one:

1. I may or may not have heard a few of the songs from The Book of Mormon: The Musical and can I just say that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are my all-time ( Read more... )

Eeeeeee, Southland finale! I'm going to watch it *soon*!
I adore Cooper. The ads for the show in the first season made him look like some kind of redneck jackass, possibly 'bad' cop and i was so turned off. But then i watched and ooh, true love!

Pretty much true love for everyone, which is rare in a show with a cast this big.

We are back to 32 or colder weather so no blooms of any sort here! Well - there are a couple daffodils bravely opening next door but otherwise...still winter!

SouthLAnd is really such a superior show to most everything. I love that on the surface, without watching, it looks like a run of the mill cop drama when it's anything but. \o/

GAH TO YOUR COLD! Bleurgh, sorry y'all are still in the throes.

I am three episodes behind on Southland - house guests will not allow me the space to watch my TV! Note to everyone: hovering is not polite. Also, stop telling me you hate things I like (Southland, Jersey Shore, Top Chef). I don't care.

The mountain laurels are blooming! I love the smell of Grape Bubbleyum throughout the neighborhood.

It is gorgeous out. Time to sunblock up and walk to the library. That yoga DVD that I didn't watch won't check itself back in.

SXSW Music starts up on Tuesday this year. I need to do some band research, stat!

Have a fun vacation and bring home lots and lots of yummy wine.

HOUSE GUESTS! Back off her TV viewing! Har. Ew, I hate that, too, when someone knows you like something but they can't help but tell you how much it sucks.

I don't have blooms on my laurel yet, that's when I know Spring is here.

And thank you!

This resurgence of Mormon culture in the media (let me believe it's true, please) has me wanting to dust off my manuscript and try again (after fixing problems. Feh.)

A week or two ago, the Washington Post had a really long feature piece on the Romney & Huntsman clans, their political ambitions, and how Mitt was just more Morman than Huntsman...

Oh, Mitt is totally more of a Mormon than Hunstman. He's a descendant of one of the more colorful friends of Joesph Smith (not to mention he's rich. More money = more righteous)

Supposedly, they're cousins -- though one gets the sense that almost all major mormon politicians are related...
