It was almost time. Rita had spent hours deciding what to wear, and eventually decided on something simple - for her, anyway. The black velvet dress and jacket with matching beading was just enough, she thought. Formal, but not too flimsy. She kept to the monotone with her stockings and shoes, of course, but transfigured of her handbags white for the occasion. Lovely. She was rather pleased with herself when she did her final turn in front of the mirror. Seams parallel, hair all in place. Wonderful.
A change of clothes for the next day and everything she'd need for the overnight stay were simpler. She shrunk the bag she'd put them in and was ready.
The invitation and the portkey were safely in hand. She apparated to Irma's front door and knocked. Couldn't wait to see what Irma had chosen for the night. Reminded herself to behave.
