What I find fascinating isn't simply the rise in membership, but the huge increase in regular activity, as measured by the "updated in last 7 days" number. People aren't just getting accounts at IJ; they're living there.
Edit: I added stats from May 2007 and December 16, 2007, which show the increase in activity pre-dates the implosion of GreatestJournal.
