Just for kicks (and to see if we could even possibly make a west coast StateCon), I looked up the route between Boise and Las Vegas.

I miss Vegas so much. Going to Vegas was not a big deal when I lived in Southern California, but now it's so far away...

Oh, no. I had a pretty good idea of what was out there. It's just a little overwhelming to look at the map, look at the mileage, look at the travel time, and picture the hours upon hours of endless sagebrush.

yup. I made the drive from ABQ to PHX this summer, and it was almost entirely desert except for Pie Town. It was nice if you know how to appreciate desert scenery.

Speaking from experience, there is nothing like pulling into Las Vegas at night, with all the lights burning. That was one of my favorite parts of the trip to Lake Mead when we would go when I was a kid. I bet it's even more amazing now.
