Why thank you. I hoped it would be accessible for general readers--minus the Union reference, of course. Which is also quite entertaining in itself. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Great tone to your story and of course Threepio, poor longsuffering Threepio, is victimized once more. The kids seemed like Solo kids, all right, and I know enough about the EU to appreciate the final two paragraphs. I liked Chewie's two hundred years' worth of life letting him in on the 'they're up to something' vibe.
I think you're using some lingo I'm not familiar with, unless "OW" is simply as in "ow, I just stubbed my toe" or "ow, I just rolled my ankle on a stick in the grass playing frisbee and I think I might've sprained something because something popped."
It is sad, isn't it? I knew that when I was doing it, but -- sad. A friend sent me the first two YJK omnibus collections out of sentimentality. Paging through those was sad, too--not just because of classic Jaina & Jacen, but because they're so melodramatic sometimes it's painful. (E.g.: Tenel Ka and Tamith Kai having a war of words on Yavin 4. *shivers* The horror.)
I loved this and I almost wish the Solo kids could have stayed this way forever but the powers-that-be decided to show us how cruel life can be in NJO and especial LOTF.
I liked how we got to read Chewbacca's words too and how very fatherly and intelligent and caring he is with Han's children even when they're a pain in the butt.
This was sad though: "Even if we were on different sides of the galaxy, we’d still have each other."
I think a lot of us wish the Solo kids could've stayed like that, even if Jacen became a lot less corny-awful. He was a bit of a dork, and, I like dorks... *sniff*

If you didn't pick up on the last two paragraphs, you're better off not understanding. It's too sad.

I really want those sunglasses he wore in that scene. Those were some spiffy shades.
