...In other news, I started the Dark Tower series today. Further thoughts on that are pending, but I just have to say --

Oh good sweet Jacob, the Dark Tower series.

I have Feelings about that series.

Complicated feelings. There are aspects of the Dark Tower I love. There are aspects of the series that I loathe. The same can be said for the books. Some of 'em are solid (like the first) and some of 'em are a hot mess.

Well. I just finished the first book last night, and I think I'm with you there. There's some seriously fascinating stuff but also random squicky bits. (Sorry, I really don't need to know about the state of the gunslinger's balls at any given moment.)

I'll be interested to see where this goes.
