Mercury had been passing by on her way between teaching classes and heading back to her quarters. She paused as she heard the faint humming before she saw the demonstration. Her face was a mask of aloof but polite interest as she watched Jaina for some time, standing off to the side and a safe distance away so as not to intrude.
One form.. to the next.. then the next.. When Jaina paused she opened her right eye just smidge enough to see someone with blue hair standing there. Upon seeing that the woman was actually watching her she opened both eyes and gave a smile.
"Hi," she spoke in a friendly enough voice that still held a bit of concentration to it.
"Ah.. excuse me," Mercury apologized with just a slight embarrassed hesitation. "Please, continue. I did not intend to interrupt." She gave a nod to Jaina before stepping back another pace or two.
"That is... is it alright if I stay, though? You seem very skilled. I was enjoying watching it."
Jaina chuckled slightly as she let the blade die, taking the chance to wipe sweat from her brow with the back of her right hand. "No it's no problem. I needed to grab a drink anyway." Tilting her head slightly she studied the woman while walking to pick up her water bottle that sat close to her gear and the other two training blades. "I hadn't had a chance since leaving home to practice some- thought I'd try getting some time in before classes pick up."
After a swallow of water the Solo kid nodded her head. "Hope I'm not keeping you from one of your classes, ma'am."
Today had just been one interesting thing after another. It was difficult to go ten minutes without something new and interesting happening, and it seemed as though the streak of interesting things was bound to continue. Bravo saw a flash of purple out of the corner of his eye, and went to investigate.
He was a little surprised to see Jaina swinging around the metal cylinder he had examined yesterday, but now with a glowing purple energy blade extending out of it. Bravo stopped for a moment to watch before moving closer, though he was careful not to get in the way.
"Well, someone looks ready for a rave. I have to say that wasn't quite what I was expecting when you said it was a lightsaber, but that's certainly something to look at," Bravo said. "The name fits, too."
Letting the blade die, Jaina stood a little straighter from the last form she had been in. It was a broad smile that crossed her face when she heard Bravo talking. "That's how we are. Young and just full of surprises." With the back of her right hand she wiped her brow dry before giving a soft chuckle. "I hadn't expected to see you today being the first day of classes and well. Well. Not until later when yours starts."
Her words were teasing as she reached out a hand, a bottle of water not to far off close to the training swords raising in the air and moving her way. It was nothing to her to use her abilities for such things for normal day use. Some of the Masters would probably complain but, well, they weren't there.
Telekenesis, too? Bravo smiled. "How about we put that little light stick of yours to the test? No telekenesis or anything else, not just yet. Just a friendly little sparring match," It might be able to damage his silver skin, but Bravo was unconcerned. More than anything he was fascinated, and looking forward to testing her skill with that. He wouldn't be getting into an all out fight, though, they both had classes later.
So just a little, then, just so he'd have some basis of what he was dealing with when it came to Jaina and her lightsaber.
Jaina let a frown of confusion cross her face. "Putting this 'little light stick' to the test might involve some not so shiny things happening like limbs being removed or things cut in half. I don't feel like getting kicked out just yet, sir." Giving him a playful little wink she clipped the saber back to her belt before actually walking over and picking up the training sticks.
Nephrite was immediately intrigued by the shiny purple blade. He watched the girl as she practiced; there was grace in her actions and skill in her techniques.
Deciding that it must be okay for the girl to have an audience, Nephrite crossed his arms in front of him and watched.
One stance went into the next before the feeling of eyes caught her attention. It was that odd little feeling of someone watching you when you least expected it. Lowering the saber she let the blade die with a hiss before turning her head enough to see an oddly dressed man standing there watching. It was a wry little smile that crossed her face, a brow slightly arching in the process. "Hello."
"No Jedi where you are from?" the curious tone to Jaina's voice was hard to hide. True, the majority of the people here might not have, but it was hard telling exactly what/where the man was from. "Not expecting you to have or anything- most here haven't."
Twirling the deactivated hilt in her hand she studied the man carefully. Something was odd about him. Not like the others on campus.
"Ooooooooooooooooooh, shiny," James said as he flopped down on the lawn. Rolling over to get comfy, he contented himself with watching the woman upside down.
"Are you attracted to shiny things?" Jaina asked with a wry little smile as she continued through her forms, eyes closed, knowing them by heart. She felt out with the Force finding where Potter was laying at and making sure not to get to close.
"Or are you just bored between classes like myself?"
"Indeed I am, as the shiny cannot be denied, nor should it," James sagely nodded. "Your glowy wand sort of proves that point."
"And please," he snorted as he took out his wand and began attempting to balance it on his nose. His eyes began crossing as he half-focused on the task, half-focused on the woman. "I'm bored during classes too."
